Individual Therapy
I specialize in working with adolescents (age 13 and older) and adults struggling with the following symptoms and disorders:
» | Depression |
» | Anxiety |
» | Relationship issues |
» | Self esteem issues |
» | Grief and loss |
» | Trauma related conditions including: dissociation, Dissociative Identity Disorder and complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder |
» | Personality disorders, including Borderline Personality Disorder |
I have received intensive training in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic approaches. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps to alleviate symptoms by helping the person change behaviors and thoughts that contribute to depression or anxiety. Psychodynamic psychotherapy aims to understand a person’s current symptoms as stemming from past events and circumstances (most often, family of origin issues). I am integrative in my approach to therapy, and tailor treatment to your specific needs.
Professional Consultation
I offer consultation services to both clients (who may or not be in therapy with another therapist) and mental health professionals. Consultation can best be defined as meeting with an expert in a field to obtain an opinion or advice.
Diagnostic Consultation: I am available to perform specialized consultations for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and Dissociative Disorders, in order to clarify diagnoses. I have provided this for psychiatric hospitals, treatment programs, and mental health providers. I have also performed consultations for attorneys, where mental health issues may be a factor in their client’s legal issues.
Therapeutic Consultation: Clients and therapists who are working in trauma based therapies for complex PTSD and Dissociative Disorders can at times find themselves stuck. I can consult with both the patient and therapist to determine ways for therapy to get back on a productive track.
